Philosophy of Change
The above quote accurately describes the beginning of therapy. Clients come in because their current situation or problem is more unbearable than the thought of making a change. But they soon find change is not easy. To help you reach your goals, I use my knowledge, experience, and empathy to help you gain insight and awareness to make and maintain changes for a more fulfilling life with enhanced relationships. So what can you expect from me as a therapist? I care. I know that beginning therapy is hard for many people, so I work hard to build trust and rapport from our very first meeting. I learn. To serve you better, I stay on top of current research and training so that I am knowledgeable and helpful in our work together. I understand. Everyone has their own rate of growth and readiness to make change, even when they are positive. I am here for support even when it's hard to make the positive, useful changes that will improve your well being. I encourage. I celebrate your therapeutic accomplishments. Every step toward a goal is a triumph which will strengthen your motivation toward future goals.
