Beginning Counseling Skills Study Group
Starting out as a therapist can feel exciting—and a little scary. This beginning counseling skills study group is a safe, supportive space for California MFT associates to grow confidence, practice essential skills, and connect with peers who understand the challenges of starting out in clinical work.
In this group, you’ll have a chance to practice real-world counseling skills, ask questions without judgment, and learn from both the facilitator and your peers. We focus on building strong therapeutic relationships, developing your clinical voice, and translating theory into interventions that feel natural and effective with clients.

Ethical practice and professional boundaries
Structuring sessions, pacing, and managing anxiety in the room
