In-Person Therapy in Calabasas for Couples and Individuals
Would having a private place away from everything else make it easier to give the conversation your full attention?
In-person therapy in Calabasas gives you a place to step out of the day, look more closely at what is happening, and give the conversation the time and attention it may be difficult to find elsewhere.
For couples, meeting face-to-face can create room to slow down what keeps happening between you without being surrounded by the routines, distractions, or tension of home.
For individuals, it can offer dedicated time to think through a relationship, loss, transition, or decision without immediately needing to know what comes next.

A Place to Step Out of the Day and Into the Conversation
Some conversations are harder to have when you are still inside the environment where everything else is happening.
At home, you and your partner may start talking and quickly fall into the same argument, shutdown, or silence. On your own, you may be carrying a decision, loss, or change through work, family responsibilities, and daily routines without much room to hear your own thoughts clearly.
Meeting online removes the commute and gives you another option for protecting time for therapy when the rest of life is already full.
You do not need to arrive with the conversation organized or know exactly where it should begin.
We can start with what feels most important now and give it the attention it has been difficult to find elsewhere.
Couples and Individual Therapy in Calabasas
The work may begin with something happening between you and a partner, or with something you are trying to understand on your own.
Couples Therapy
Are you finding that the same issue keeps pulling the two of you back into a familiar pattern?
Conflict around communication, trust, intimacy, family, money, parenting, or a major life change can start to carry more than the immediate disagreement.
Couples therapy creates room to slow that pattern down, understand what each person is experiencing, and look more closely at what repair, change, or clarity may require.
Individual Therapy
Sometimes the relationship is part of the reason you are seeking therapy even when the other person is not in the room.
A changing relationship, separation or divorce, grief, a major transition, a difficult decision, or a familiar pattern may all become reasons to look more closely at your own experience.
Individual therapy gives you room to understand what has shaped this moment and become clearer about what you want from your relationships and your life moving forward.

What It Is Like to Work With Me
I’m Carine Keenan, LMFT. My work begins with curiosity about the people in front of me rather than an assumption that I already understand what the problem means.
With couples, I pay attention to what keeps happening between you and what each person may be experiencing inside the pattern.
With individuals, I look at how relationships, family experiences, loss, identity, work, culture, finances, and life stage connect to what is happening now.
My approach is holistic, relational, attachment-oriented, systemic, and humanistic. Those frameworks help me think about the work, but they do not tell me who you are.
I want to understand how you experience what is happening, what has shaped the way you respond to it, and what would make the work meaningful for you.
If In-Person Therapy
Feels Like the Right Fit
Some people know they prefer being in the same room with their therapist. Others simply want a dedicated place where the conversation can have their full attention.
A consultation gives us a chance to talk about what is bringing you in, what you are looking for, and whether working together in person feels like the right fit.
If online sessions would work better for your schedule, location, or day-to-day responsibilities, you can also learn more about Online Therapy in California.
